What comes, what stays, what goes? The motto used for our “Change Management Werkstatt” in 2021 is still highly relevant two years later. Given the incredible abundance of change management literature and approaches, we keep asking ourselves: What are the basic principles that will still be valid in 20 years and will not get lost in the noise of modern tool discussions?
To answer this question, we at ICG decided to launch an internal project about our consulting approach in 2022, harvesting experiences from all consultants in our group.
This edition of our Change Magazine will give you, our valued reader, an insight into the experiences we have made and approaches we have taken over the last 40 years. The content is based on the transformation journey: What are the basic models you need to know to operate change? Which principles should be followed to bring about real change? What are the latest trends in the change literature? How do you set out on a journey of transformation? How do you bring an organization out of its dynamic equilibrium? How do you start a movement? What skills are needed and how can learning be organized? What is the role of leadership and what is the role of teams in change? And... How can you offer your employees stability in times of constant change? These are just some of the central questions we want to address in this issue, provided for the first time in a digital format. Finally, we have some additional good news: We are in the process of writing a book that will be published in early 2024! What can you expect? Deep insights into change approaches and models, lots of concrete application examples, and more than 100 tools that will help you implement them.
We hope that you enjoy reading this magazine and look forward to our new book!
Yours, Franz Schwarenthorer
